All of our team undergo Enhanced checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Furthermore, all of our Pastoral Mentors have completed the Local Safeguarding Children Board’s Module 2 or NSPCC course in Safeguarding as well as our ongoing internal training which ensures they are compliant with our Safeguarding Policy and procedures.

All of our Mentors receive regular case-supervision from a qualified and experienced Team Leader/Supervisor.

Photography & Images Policy

All images used on the TWUP website and publication materials are used with the expressed permission of the parents/carers of each young person, and with the expressed consent of the child pictured. For the protection of the young people, the names and critical details of the young person have either been withheld or changed. Images of mentoring sessions or support work with young people are staged with the permission of all relevant parties in order to ensure the protection of the young people being photographed.

TWUp will only use images deemed suitable by the charity and parents/carers, in accordance with the guidance of the NSPCC, in order to mitigate the risk of inappropriate use.

All photographers employed by TWUP to work directly with the young people are DBS checked in accordance with the wider Child Protection policy of the charity.* Photographers retain the copyright of all images used but agree not to distribute or share images taken for TWUP with any unauthorised person. All images and stories may not be reproduced without expressed written permission of TWUP.

* This may not be the case where photographers are not photographing children or young people. Permissions for images of people over the age of 18 are gained directly from the person being photographed.
