About This Way Up

History

This Way Up Youth Project began to take shape in Autumn 2005 and became a charity in April 2006 but the Lost & Found
course was developed long before that and is loosely based on the book ‘Divorce Recovery for Teenagers’ published by
Youth Specialties way back in 1990.

We began to see that secondary school age young people affected by loss needed support that they could easily access
without having to go outside their school environment. The course material was ‘trialed’ in Solihull, UK and since then
Christian youth workers around the UK have been trained to deliver the material. Trained workers are now beginning to
use the course as far afield as South Africa and Australia!

Vision

Equipping others to support young people affected by loss.
Developing new resources around emotional health.
